Cantata is a free and open source multi-platform supported music player for Linux, Windows, Mac OS and much more. It’s an MPD – Music Player Daemon server which runs in the background and needs one graphical user interface to organize and manage the music.
All the installation guides shown below are contributions done by the gmpc community, the guides with a red square have not been commited and therefor we ask you to help us out. If you have experience with an installation on a system which is not commited yet, please write a small tutorial so others can benifit as well. Clients MPD is designed around a client/server architecture, where the clients and server (MPD is the server) interact over a network. Thus, running MPD is only half of the equation.
